Missouri Heights Blog Post

Missouri Heights is a wonderful living area with so many activities right at your door. This rural location is only 30 miles down valley from Aspen with endless hiking, skiing, climbing, and fly fishing. There are also multiple unique boutiques that are great for an exceptional shopping experience. This area boast amazing views of Mount Sopris and sits right by the famous Frying pan and Roaring Fork River. There are so many beautiful mountain ranches and horse properties, you cannot go wrong with Missouri Heights!

Missouri Heights is not only a beautiful place but it is also rich with history. The community still has one of the first school houses built in the area preserved. It was one of the four built in the area and was constructed on 1917. The school finally closed in 1956 when the children began being moved to the Carbondale schools. Before this the building was also used for community gatherings and many other events. Today, the schoolhouse is the only remaining historic building on the mesa that is available for public use. It is a great place to spend a day with friends and family.
